Bible Reading: Genesis 12:6-7
Abram travelled through the land as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh at Shechem. At that time the Canaanites were in the land. The Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him.
Thought for Reflection: Abraham built an altar – a way of remembering that God had promised and had guided him thus far. Sometimes it’s good for us to remember significant times when God was involved in our lives and to have them as milestones we can look back on when trials come.
Prayer: Lord, help me to keep in mind today what you have already done so I can trust in your promises for today and tomorrow.
