Bible Notes

Friday 6th December 2013

Reading: Daniel 2:48-49 NIV
[48] Then the king placed Daniel in a high position and lavished many gifts on him. He made him ruler over the entire province of Babylon and placed him in charge of all its wise men. [49] Moreover, at Daniel’s request the king appointed Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego administrators over the province of Babylon, while Daniel himself remained at the royal court.

Thought for Reflection: This quite a turn up for the book! Daniel, the slave, hundreds of miles from his home, having a place of power and influence along with his three friends. It’s not the end of the story by any means ( think of fiery furnaces and lions) but Daniel must have felt “thus far, has The Lord led us”. God can do far more than we ask or imagine – for Daniel and for us!

Prayer: Lord, help me to take heart from Daniel and to stand for you like he did.
