Serving Jesus in Our Community

Bible Notes

Wednesday 18th December 2013

Today:  Two chances for carol singing today as we visit Wormley Court for a joint service with St. Laurence/St. Augustine’s at 3pm and then Forefields Residential Home in Cheshunt at 6.30pm.

Reading: Romans 15:12-13
12 And again, Isaiah says,
‘The Root of Jesse will spring up,
    one who will arise to rule over the nations;
    in him the Gentiles will hope.’
13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Thought for Reflection: Hope is a wonderful word and can change our whole outlook – and the gift of God is to give us hope in a world where that is a rare commodity! That living shoot in a dry ground, from a dead looking stump, the coming of Jesus, Emmanuel God with us, transforms our past, our present and our future with hope!

Prayer: Light of the World, shine into our hearts with your hope and joy today.
