Psalm 147:7-9
7 Sing to the Lord with grateful praise;
make music to our God on the harp.
8 He covers the sky with clouds;
he supplies the earth with rain
and makes grass grow on the hills.
9 He provides food for the cattle
and for the young ravens when they call.
With my biology background I love these verses. This world is made up of a complex web of relationships and food chains between animals and plants, each dependent on the other. Alongside that you have the water cycle and other natural phenomena that are required to support life. At the heart of these sits our God who created and sustains them. It is good to be reminded that his compassion is for far more than just me, but for the entire planet and indeed beyond.
