Philippians 1:3-6 (29.09.17)

Philippians 1:3-6 NIVUK
3 I thank my God every time I remember you. 4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Occasionally I’ve done some playtesting for new games, trying them out, reviewing the rules and suggesting improvements to help the author refine them. When I get the prototype, I know that when I give it a go, the chances that I will find flaws, maybe a rule that needs clarifying or that simply doesn’t work. Playing these games could be frustrating if it wasn’t for the fact that you know the designer is working hard to perfect them, and will use our feedback to get them to a finished state. That’s a little bit like us. We are a work in progress, not perfect but being worked on. When we find parts of our lifestyle or personality that are flawed in some way, we needn’t despair, but confidently report them to our designer, knowing that he is working on us through his Spirit, refining and perfecting us, until we reach a finished state.

Father, help me to be open to your work in me, bringing my flaws to you and showing grace towards the flaws in others.
