Psalm 119:131 NIVUK
I open my mouth and pant, longing for your commands.
I have never used the word pant in worship before! It’s a word I would identify more with exercise – on a hill climb on my bike I might pant for breath, desperate for more oxygen to fuel burning muscles. But just as we need oxygen to live so we need God’s word and direction, and just as urgently.
Lord, my muscle might not be aching, but my soul yearns for you, like an athlete for oxygen.
