Ephesians 1: 17
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
Paul’s prayer for the faithful in Ephesus is astonishing. He asks God to give them wisdom and revelation – insight into the very nature of God himself. In the age of Revelation, he is asking God to reveal Himself to them personally, to envision them, to sanctify them, and through this make them a holy people. Here, we are given sure guidance about how to grow in the Spirit and to bring God into our daily lives.
Father I pray today for your Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that you might grow more in me and I grow more like you in all I am and say and do.
