Ephesians 2:1-2 NIV
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, [2] in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.
As a boy growing up in the flat Cambridgeshire Fens, I did not have to conquer hills on my bike, there were none! Instead my chief opponent was the wind who would better me remorselessly, seeking to blow me off course. Our lives better Christ were like this, blown about by our own brokenness, unhelpful influences in culture and the ‘spirit of the air’.
Thank you Jesus for being our shield from the wind, help me take cover in you.
