Ephesians 4:14-15
Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.
If we are attentive to our spiritual lives, we will mature in faith and know exactly where we stand and what we believe. In an age of sustained attack on the very notion of God, where faith is seen as an illogical attempt to explain away reality and hide from it, ultimately at odds with the logic of science, we are encouraged to “speak truth to power” but gently and with mature understanding. Christians are not called to leave the stage but to engage courageously and consistently.
Lord help us to understand that as we give we share from you and as we stand for you we give to others the truth of the gospel message and the mystery of salvation.
