Serving Jesus in Our Community

Bible Notes

Matthew 25:34-36 (06.03.18)

Matthew 25:34-36 NIV
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. [35] For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, [36] I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

As we think about setting up the Winter Night Shelter at Wormley as part of the Churches Together pilot, this parable should spur is on, not by scaring is into doing it, but by encouraging us, revealing that by varying for those in need, we are in some way also getting for God.

Lord, may I serve those around me as if I were serving you!
