John 21:10-12
10 Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish you have just caught.” 11 So Simon Peter climbed back into the boat and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn. 12 Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.”
In all the drama of this story it is these last four words that are the most astonishing rather than the miracles. Jesus, God’s Son, desires relationship with his followers, being involved in this everyday action if eating together.
Holy Spirit, help me to see Jesus in the everyday stuff of today, the mundane as well as the miraculous – thank you Lord for your friendship!
