Bible Notes

Psalm 2:7-9 (03.05.18)

Psalm 2:7-9
7 I will proclaim the Lord’s decree:
He said to me, “You are my son;
today I have become your father.
8 Ask me,
and I will make the nations your inheritance,
the ends of the earth your possession.
9 You will break them with a rod of iron;
you will dash them to pieces like pottery.”

There are two more passages where God announces this is my Son. The first is at Jesus’ baptism where he goes on to say ‘with whom I am well pleased’, and then later at the ascension, when he goes on to add, ‘listen to him’ (Mt. 3:17 & 17:5). This Psalm highlights even further the depth of Jesus’ love, humility and sacrifice as shown in his life and death, this humble servant is also God’s all-powerful majestic King and Son!

How can I respond to what Jesus has done for me Lord? Listen to him!
