Matthew 5:14-16 NIVUK
14 ‘You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
This is why as a church we run and support activities such as the Winter Night Shelter, Foodbank, Toddlers, Street Pastors, Young Life, the Drop-In and why as members of the Church out in the world we seek to love and serve the people around us – this is what we’re made for and called to, to be the light of the World. That phrase, have you heard it before? Yes, Jesus used it of himself (John 8) – as his disciples we are called to continue his walk and work and point people to our Father.
You know me and you love me, you fill me, so send me to…
Shine from the inside out, that the world will see you live in me
