Hebrews 12:1-2 NIV
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, [2] fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
It’s hard to remember how we managed without so much of our modern technology, our phones, the internet and computers. Driving to our children at university, I’m always grateful for our SatNav – driving in unfamiliar cities is always difficult and it’s so useful to be shown the way. The Bible tells us our destination is a relationship with our Father and life in his Kingdom. Jesus is our foundation not just because he is our Saviour as we remembered yesterday, but because he is our guide, leading us there.
Spirit, help us to follow.
