Matthew 2:1-2 NIV
After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
Jumping ahead to after the events of Christmas here (Jesus is a ‘child’ now, not a baby), but this seems appropriate after SHINE! yesterday with it’s Three Kings theme. I’ve always thought that this short statement by them is a perfect description of the life of faith or discipleship: a longing to find and be with Jesus and to worship him in how we live.
Lord, we long to find and worship you today.
