Serving Jesus in Our Community

Bible Notes

Psalm 41:9-12 (12.12.19)

Psalm 41:9-12 NIV
Even my close friend, someone I trusted, one who shared my bread, has turned against me. [10] But may you have mercy on me, Lord; raise me up, that I may repay them. [11] I know that you are pleased with me, for my enemy does not triumph over me. [12] Because of my integrity you uphold me and set me in your presence forever.

Another echo of the future Messiah in the Psalms. We all experience being let down at some point in our lives, and the Messiah we are waiting for was to experience this aspect of our lives too, and to a greater extent than we ever will. But God saw his faithfulness and wouldn’t let his being betrayed, even to death, be the end of his story…

Jesus responded to betrayal with grace. Inspire us Lord to do the same!
