Philippians 4:12-13 NIV
[12] I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. [13] I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
To learn to be content has to be one of the best lessons of life!! Wherever we are and in whatever circumstances there is a secret to being content and Paul has learnt it – it is through the one who gives us strength. If God is with us in our trial then we do need to fear or strive change circumstances. This is not complacency – no-one could accuse Paul of that! – but it is accepting that we are here and God can use us today not wait until circumstances change before we praise him!!
Lord, whatever our need today, whether we are rich or poor, help us to be content in your love and service.
