Genesis 2:15&18 NIV
The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it…. [18] The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
What did God mean when he told Adam to rule over the earth – here we find out, to work it and care for it. This job wasn’t just for him either, God made him a partner, an equal, to work alongside him. Their rule was to echo God’s, he continued to care for them as they were to care for the earth.
Father, help us to rediscover our calling to care for each other and the world as your children, living in relationship with each other – and you.
