1 Peter 1:13-16 (09.09.20)

1 Peter 1:13-16 NIV
[13] Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. [14] As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. [15] But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; [16] for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

Family likenesses are amusing aren’t they? To see a father and son, or a mother and daughter, looking and behaving in the same way shows they belong to each other – for better or worse!! So it is with the family that God has brought us into – he calls us to be like him! To be like him in love, compassion, patience, joy and holiness. What does that look like in your life today?

I was lost, but Jesus found me,
Found the sheep that went astray,
Raised me up and gently led me
Back into the narrow way.
Yes, I’ll sing the wondrous story
Of the Christ who died for me,
Sing it with the saints in glory,
Gathered by the crystal sea.
