Isaiah 9:7
7 Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and for ever.
As we go into the weekend we have the certainty expressed by the prophecy of Isaiah that the kingdom of God will never end. The greatness of God has no ending. The law of God is eternal and he is a just God who will never be overcome by the world or by opposing forces. We are promised fullness of life in the Kingdom of God with that great promise of peace and eternity at Christmas so represented by the child who is to come, the Son of God, Prince of Peace.
Jesus Prince of Peace come into my heart as I prepare to remember your birth this Christmas.
Open my heart to receive you as my Lord and Saviour.
