44 He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”
Maybe you’ve heard it said that the god of the Old Testament is different from the god of the New; maybe you’ve even said it yourself! Jesus wouldn’t have seen it that way, the Old Testament was his Bible, it’s god was his Father, the one he said he was one with (John 10:30). Perhaps if we see them as different, we need to reread them in light of each other, as it is Jesus that the Old Testament works and points towards.
Help us Lord to read, understand and apply this wonderful book that you’ve given us, a love letter, family tree, portrait and guide to life in all its fullness. Above all, let us gain a greater appreciation of you through it.
