Luke 2:46-47
46 After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47 Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers.
After three days of Jesus being hidden from their sight, Mary and Joseph find him in the Temple and see him in a new way, they are astonished by him, his understanding and his answers. Whilst the angel told them their child was God’s Son, perhaps this was when they began to see it for themselves. Throughout Luke’s Gospel he points to a similar situation where Jesus would be hidden until the third day, when he would be revealed clearly for who he was, the risen Messiah.
Open our eyes Lord, so we may see more clearly who you are.
