Revelation 11:16-17 (NIVUK)
16 And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshipped God, 17 saying:
‘We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,
the One who is and who was,
because you have taken your great power
and have begun to reign.
One of the purposes of Revelation is to give us an insight into what God is doing behind the scene. This little snapshot tells us that despite how things may seem at times, God has and is bringing his will out in this world through his power, and his kingdom of love and peace is coming. The elders in God’s throne room have seen this ahead of us. Their response? To give thanks.
Thank you Father that in your power, the power of gentle love and self-sacrifice, you are turning this world around. We trust in you and your ways.
