John 2:5-6 (NIVUK)
5 His mother said to the servants, ‘Do whatever he tells you.’
6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from eighty to a hundred and twenty litres.
Here’s a hint at what John might be trying to tell us here about the Cross – why is it significant that these are ceremonial washing jars? What might that mean?
‘Do whatever he tells you.’ Father, as I hear Mary’s instruction, may I be obedient just as the servants were.
