Genesis 12:2-3
2 ‘I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.’
With these words, God begins through Abraham his work of putting right our relationships with the land, with each other and with him. Although he makes Abram (later Abraham) one of the great heroes of our faith, and blesses him, ultimately, it’s not about Abram it’s about what God chooses in his grace to do through him, because through Abram and Sarai’s family we come to Jesus, through whom all is and will be put right.
Thank you Lord, that despite our brokenness and self-centredness, you made the decision to put things right rather than to abandon or ignore us.
