Genesis 12:6-7
6 Abram travelled through the land as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh at Shechem. At that time the Canaanites were in the land. 7 The Lord appeared to Abram and said, ‘To your offspring I will give this land.’ So he built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him.
God had more in store for Abram than taking him to a new home, his plan was to give the land he took him to, to his children! This is a reminder that God’s plans are bigger than just plans for you or me, his plans extend outwards to all of us and those to come. He sees the big picture. Maybe this provides an answer to the question of why he doesn’t always answer our prayers as we hope he might, he sees beyond what we can see and works for the greatest good.
Thank you Father that you are interested in not just us but our families, our friends, our neighbours, our communities, those we know and are yet to know, and even our unborn descendents. Your love and grace extends to and encompasses all!
