Revelation 7:9-10 (NIVUK)
9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice:
‘Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb.’
We end this week with the reading we started with on Sunday, John’s vision of the crowd drawn together from all nations and all times, worshiping God together. This is God’s grand plan, the purpose he is working towards, the heavens and earth restored, and humanity finally united with each other and with him. This is God’s core work, let’s make it ours as well – an aspiration appropriate for this day.
Give us a dream of what could be, of what will be, so that we can play our part in aspiring to it now.
