1 John 4:7-9 NIVUK
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: he sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
What is love? There are so many ways to answer that, so many different types of love and ways of showing love. As David said on Sunday, the catch is that we don’t necessarily know what love is or what love looks like in any situation, and even if we did, we’re too quick to act on instinct or emotion, rather than stop and work it out. God is love, and through knowing him we can come to learn what love looks like.
Thank you for Jesus, who shows us in human terms what love is.
