Matthew 6:33-34 (NIVUK)
33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Over the summer holiday season we’re going to be thinking about The Lord’s Prayer in our Sunday services. In many ways these two verses encapsulate and embody this prayer – if we believe that God is our loving Father, we can ask him to meet our daily needs and concerns, and instead dedicate ourselves to living his way. We pray for our daily bread, and seek to live in a way that answers the prayer ‘may your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven’.
Father, what would it look like to live your way in the day I have ahead?
