Bible Notes

Matthew 6:10 (04.08.23)

Matthew 6:10 (NIVUK)
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.

To P.R.A.Y. (Pause, Rejoice, Ask, Yield), is to put into practice this week’s verse of the Lord’s Prayer. As we pray we realign ourselves with God and his kingdom, allowing us to be shaped and guided by it, and seek God to do the same with the world around us. I find this verse a great antidote to the myth of the sacred-secular split that pervades so much thinking today. This verse insists that all of life, the so called sacred and secular is in God and to be brought into his kingdom, heaven and earth, local and global, the church and the world, our church services and meetings and our daily life.

Father, help me to imagine every aspect of life today as it could be if aligned with your kingdom. Help me to pray for this to occur, and to shape my life accordingly.
