Psalm 119:105 (NIVUK)
105 Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.
We have a small pond in the garden to encourage wildlife. It’s positively teaming right now with all sorts of bugs and amphibians. Last night I was beckoned out into the darkness to see a pair of newts that were tucked away under a small bird bath we also have nearby. On the way I managed to lean my leg across a small stinging nettle. Ouch! If only I’d remembered it was there, or had a torch on to reveal it! The Psalmist describes God’s word as being like a torch – it gives us illumination, showing the way and granting us clear-sight and understanding.
Thank you Father for helping us see the world as it really is, guiding us and helping us understand it. Please light up my path today.
