[1] Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up…….
Jonah 2:1-2 NIV
[1] 2 From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the Lord his God. [2] He said:
“In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me. From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and you listened to my cry.
Even when things had gone badly wrong for Jonah and he realised it was all his own fault, then he prayed and didn’t give up!! He might have thought that God would have had enough of him but actually, it was at this most awful moment that he realises where his help lies…….and the Lord answered him!!! How wonderful to discover that God hears our cry for help – even from the bottom of the ocean!!
When peace like a river, attendeth my way
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say
It is well, it is well, with my soul
