Bible Notes

Psalm 139:1-3 (05.12.17)

Psalm 139:1-3 NIV
[1] You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. [2] You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. [3] You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.

Close, long-standing love relationships between two people are characterised by intimate familiarity with and knowledge of each other. Each knows the other, their ways, their habits, their good points and their less attractive features. They don’t need to be told what the other is doing – they just know instinctively. And because they love each other that love over-rides all. God who loves us beyond measure knows every part of us, knows us better than we know ourselves. He accepts us as we are without condition. He is and will be there for us always – even until the end of time.

Lord God, I thank you today and every day for your steadfast love and faithfulness.
