The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.
A final reminder from Proverbs of the power of words. Words have a real and lasting impact on others, they can both build up and encourage others, and they can tear them down. Life and death. Perhaps they should come with a ‘handle with care’ warning! We’ve thought a lot about listening this week. When we’ve listened, let’s not rush to speak, but think carefully about how we can use our words for life.
Moses said the choice was between life or death. Father, we chose life. May our words be life giving today.
