Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
We’re thinking about this list over the next couple of months on Sunday mornings – how did Jesus display these characteristics and what do they mean for us? But for today, and in light of ‘Freedom Day’, maybe it’s worth pointing out the last sentence: against such things there is no law. Feel free to be loving all the time, and joyful and peaceful, patient, kind, good faithful, gentle and self-controlled. There is no restriction on these things, so let’s make the most of our freedom and go overboard!
Spirit, come and work in us so that we might be overflowing with these fruit.
