Exodus 15:19-21 (01.08.22)

Exodus 15:19-21 NIVUK
19 When Pharaoh’s horses, chariots and horsemen went into the sea, the Lord brought the waters of the sea back over them, but the Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground. 20 Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron’s sister, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women followed her, with tambourines and dancing. 21 Miriam sang to them:

‘Sing to the Lord,
for he is highly exalted.
Both horse and driver
he has hurled into the sea.’

I love how Miriam’s first response is to worship, giving thanks for what God is doing in her life and encouraging others to do the same. It can be all too easy to never get around to it, to get distracted by simply enjoying it, to forget. Miriam, however, is straight in there, giving thanks and encouraging others to do so too.

Take time at the start of the day to say thank you before the day gets underway and takes over.
