Job 38:31-33 (01.11.22)

Job 38:31-33 (NIVUK)
31 ‘Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades?
Can you loosen Orion’s belt?
32 Can you bring forth the constellations in their seasons
or lead out the Bear with its cubs?
33 Do you know the laws of the heavens?
Can you set up God’s dominion over the earth?

The changing seasons that we experience here on earth are caused by the movements of planets and stars, a galactic snooker game that is played out year by year. Whilst I might be able to pot the occasional ball on a table of green felt, this heavenly game is beyond my ability, or that of any human.

Father, the changing of the leaves, the daily differences in the weather, and the night and the day, are all brought about by your great hands. What a great God you are, awesome in power and splendour!
