Hebrews 11:8
By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.
We heard on Sunday how God used less-than-perfect people to bring about his purposes and be a part of his amazing plan to bring his Messiah into our world. The genealogy in Matthew’s gospel starts with Abraham. As we heard a few weeks ago, Abraham, who became regarded as the father of faith, showed a total lack of trust in God when there was a famine in Genesis 12, and again when he grew impatient waiting for a son in chapter 16. If God can use him, when he lacked trust and patience, he can use any of us too.
Lord, I believe, but help my unbelief!
