Hebrews 11:21
By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of Joseph’s sons, and worshipped as he leaned on the top of his staff.
Jacob was a rogue who twice cheated Esau out of his rightful place as firstborn (Genesis chapters 25 and 27). It took God many years of hard experiences to turn Jacob into the man of faith described in Hebrews. But he became the father of the twelve tribes of Israel, from whom God’s Messiah would be descended, and took his place in the ancestry of Jesus.
Lord, I know I am a work in progress. Please keep chiselling away until I become the person you want me to be!
