Bible Notes

Matthew 13:45-46 (02.02.23)

Be Thou My Vision – Verse 4:
Riches I need not, nor man’s empty praise:
Be Thou mine inheritance now and always;
Be Thou and Thou only the first in my heart:
O Sovereign of heaven, my treasure Thou art.

Jesus once told the following story:
45 ‘…the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
Matthew 13:45-46 (NIVUK)

There is nothing greater than knowing God and being a part of the world he is, and will be, bringing into being. As Graham Kendrick sang, ‘knowing you Jesus, there is no greater thing’, nothing compares to the riches we have and have in store in him.

In what ways is God precious to you – take some time to tell him.
