Matthew 28:19-20 (NIVUK)
‘…19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’
Possibly one of the most famous promises Jesus makes, that of his presence with us. When we go in his name, seeking to create and grow disciples – people who believe in him and live out their life in response to their faith – Christ is with us. This promise certainly chimes with my experiences, when I have actively sought to share my faith and taken risks in doing so, this invariably has led to a deeper sense of God being with me or a new experience of him.
Thank you Jesus that you promise to go with us, when we go with you.
