Genesis 24:26-27 (14.03.23)

Genesis 24:26-27 (NIVUK)
26 Then the man bowed down and worshiped the Lord, 27 saying, “Praise be to the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, who has not abandoned his kindness and faithfulness to my master. As for me, the Lord has led me on the journey to the house of my master’s relatives.”

God was faithful to Abraham. As Abraham’s story comes to an end, we’ve seen how his promises of a family and a land have started to be fulfilled, but the servant recognises that his faithfulness is about more than just keeping promises, it is to do with the consistency of his relationship with him. God has been consistent in his treatment of Abraham, he has always been kind to him – and will always be kind to us.

Father, thank you for your kindness. Help us to echo that in our own lives and cultivate a consistent attitude of being kind to others.
