Luke 18:1 NIV
[1] Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up…….

Revelation 5:7-8 NIV
[7] He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne. [8] And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.

Here is a snippet of John’s vision of heaven – “golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people” – when we pray we send something into the presence of God which is so precious that it is collected in bowls made of gold and lifted up like incense before God! In prayer, we become inextricably linked with God – he shares with us in our daily challenges, feeling our pain and knowing our joys, and our prayers fill heaven like a fragrant offering!!
Always pray and never give up!

Prayer is the contrite sinner’s voice,
Returning from his ways,
While angels in their songs rejoice
And cry, “Behold, he prays!”
(James Montgomery 1818)
