Hebrews 1.14
Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit eternal salvation?

By the time the writer has finished the series of seven OT quotations in Hebrews 1, we have seen that Jesus is superior to the angels, superior to Israel’s greatest kings, David and Solomon, and he is eternal, the creator, equal with the Father, reigning for ever. In comparison, the angels, mighty as other scriptures show they are, are actually just servants. But not just God’s servants. Because we are God’s redeemed people, the angels are our servants too; based on this verse, many Christians believe that we each have a guardian angel. We may not see them, but they act in this world to make things possible which wouldn’t otherwise happen. They supported the Israelites in the desert (Exodus 23.20), and many more times through the Old Testament. Next week we shall hear that God made man a little lower than the angels, yet now we find that, because we belong to Jesus, the angels serve us! O the wonders of God’s grace!

Thank you Father that you act to serve us in so many ways, including through angels – what astonishing grace!
